Handover Ceremony for the Position of Director General of the Lao–Asia Telecommunication State Enterprise and Deputy Director General of Star Telecom Company between the Outgoing and Incoming Officials

On December 8, 2025, the Ministry of National Defense held a handover ceremony between Colonel Oulaha Thongvantha, Director General of the LaoAsia Telecommunication State Enterprise, Secretary of the Party Grassroots Committee, and Deputy Director General of Star Telecom Company (outgoing), and Colonel Subanh Phanthavong, Director General of the LaoAsia Telecommunication State Enterprise, Secretary of the Party Grassroots Committee, and Deputy Director General of Star Telecom Company (incoming).

The ceremony was chaired by Lieutenant General Saichai Kommaseut, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chief of the General Staff Department, with the attendance of leaders from the General Staff Department, relevant departments of the Ministry of National Defense, party committees, command units under the ministry, and other concerned sectors.

Colonel Oulaha Thongvantha delivered a summary report on the leadership and guidance he had provided in carrying out the duties, responsibilities, rights, and political obligations of his position as assistant to the Party Committee and leadership of the Ministry of National Defense. He emphasized his commitment to guiding the LaoAsia Telecommunication State Enterprise to achieve success in many areas, enabling the business to operate effectively and continuously expand, becoming one of the leading enterprises in the country.

Notable achievements include significant and rapid development of basic infrastructure, the introduction of advanced technological equipment into Lao society, the ability to generate revenue and contribute to the State, and support for social development. He also highlighted efforts in political education and ideological training for party members, staff, and soldiers, helping them understand, absorb, and implement the Partys resolutions, directions, policies, State laws, military discipline, and higher-level orders. This has fostered positive ideological transformation, perseverance, determination, and a high sense of responsibility, enabling individuals to successfully fulfill their political duties.

Following the reports, both sides proceeded to sign the official handover document between Colonel Oulaha Thongvantha, outgoing Director General of the LaoAsia Telecommunication State Enterprise, and Colonel Subanh Phanthavong, incoming Director General of the enterprise.
